This 45- acre complex includes tennis courts, soccer fields, including one lit tournament field, sand volleyball courts, softball and baseball fields, basketball courts, a skate park and more. Throughout the year, Grimes hosts events to keep your calendar packed. The Easter Eggstravaganza marks the beginning of many spring events and features face painters, crafts, food and other family-fun events. During June, Governors Days provides 3 days of car shows, fireworks, music, food, parades and much, much more! For the thrifty types, Grimes participates in the Iowa Highway 141 Garage Sale, a 2 day event in the month of August that stretches over 100 miles along Highway 141 and features bargains, vendors and flea markets. During the winter, Grimes community members can deck out their houses and enter in the Outdoor Holiday Lighting Contest.
