Marketing Intern

HomeServices of Iowa is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Marketing Intern at our Corporate office.

As a Marketing Intern, you will work with the Marketing team to perform a variety of marketing and administrative functions while cultivating your skills and gaining hands-on experience in your chosen field of study.  The paid internship will run October 2018 – January 2019.  The typical work week will consist of 15 hours.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with newsletter creation and social media 

  • Assist with graphic design projects 

  • Work with and assist events coordinator in planning and executing projects for company events 

  • Perform administrative duties as assigned 

  • Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.


Performance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Marketing.

  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Adobe InDesign with experience in Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and social media platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Flexible work schedule in order to meet deadlines and complete tasks.

  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Agent Services Representative 

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices First Realty is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team as an Agent Services Representative at our Ankeny Sales Office!

The Part-Time Agent Services Representative will work closely with agents, brokers, and managers. This role contains aspects of marketing, transactional support, and office administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong customer service by answering phones and greeting visitors in a friendly and inviting manner. 

  • Receive, process and prepare paperwork related to real estate sales on behalf of agents and brokers.

  • Create brochures, flyers/postcards, marketing materials, and promotional pieces.

  • Maintain all company listings in the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) system for completeness and accuracy.

  • Manage the weekly tour lists and Open House communication.

  • Provide passive marketing support for agents through the ReSource Center.

  • Distribute mail to agents, brokers, office staff and management.

  • Order office supplies as needed.

Performance Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Administrative, clerical or customer service experience. Real estate experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Highly personable

  • Analytical
  • Experience with social media

Human Resources Generalist 

HomeServices of Iowa is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Human Resources team as a Human Resources Generalist in our West Des Moines corporate office!

The HR Generalist will primarily be responsible for coordinating and leading our staffing and recruitment activities. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years previous experience in interviewing and selection, onboarding, benefits administration, timekeeping and employee relations.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage job postings, resumes/application, interviews screening candidates and making job offers
  • New hire orientation and training
  • Provide general support to staff in the areas of timekeeping, HRIS, policy and benefits administration
  • Assure completion of all required paperwork and approval process to include new hires and changes
  • Bi-weekly payroll reporting

Performance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial relation, human resources management, business administration or related field
  • A good working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations and employment law; PHR certification preferred
  • Ability to interpret and communicate policy and procedure
  • High proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Insurance Producer

HomeServices Insurance Agency is an affiliate of one of the largest real estate companies in the United States, and we have an extraordinary opportunity for a professional insurance producer! The producer will work in our Cedar Rapids and Iowa City offices to assist clients with their insurance needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Market and sell personal lines insurance policies

  • Proactively contact all leads to recommend appropriate insurance, quote and place coverage

  • Identify and assess client risk exposures

  • Foster referral relationships with all real estate personnel including agents, office managers and mortgage brokers to maximize sales opportunities

Performance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience and knowledge; bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Appropriate state agent/broker personal lines insurance license

  • Minimum of two years’ successful personal lines insurance sales experience

  • High level marketing skills

  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management techniques
